Worms

Regular worming is not only good for your pet's health but is essential in the fight to prevent people, especially children, from becoming infected with potentially harmful parasites.

Adult dogs and cats should be wormed every three months with a good quality wormer that kills both roundworms and tapeworms, we currently recommend Milbemax for dogs and cats.

Puppies and kittens should be wormed more frequently for the first six months of their lives starting at about 3-4 weeks of age. This is particularly the case for puppies as these are frequently infested with the dog roundworm Toxocara canis which can infect humans, especially children. Puppies and kittens can be wormed with a wide variety of wormers, the intervals between worming will depend on the product chosen.
